Bacardi is a famous brand of rum, founded in Cuba and now based in Puerto Rico. The brand was founded in 1862 when Catalan-born wine merchant Facundo Bacardi Massó and his brother José set up a distillery in Santiago de Cuba. Facundo had previously pioneered charcoal filtration which, along with aging in white oak barrels, allowed him to produce what is generally considered to be the first white rum. Fruit bats lived in the rafters of the distillery, inspiring the company's logo.

A journey that begins with sweet, tropical fruit, buttery caramel and vanilla notes and ends with a smoky liquorice and molasses finish.
