The Poggio alle Mura line is the result of the continuous agronomic and oenological research, which has always been carried out by Banfi. Clonal selection and precision work from the vineyard to the cellar, make the wines of the Poggio alle Mura line among the finest in the entire company portfolio. Intense and characterized by excellent acidity, Rosso di Montalcino Poggio alle Mura is an elegant and refined wine.

Production Technique: The grape harvest is followed by vinification in Horizon hy bridstainless steel & wood tanks, with skin contact for 7-10 days. After an aging period of 12 months in French oak barriques, the wine is properly bottle-aged.

Production Area: Dedicated vineyards sloping down from the historic Poggio alle Mura Castle crowning our estate. We chose this patch of land, particularly suited to grow Sangiovese, to plant, in 1992, the first vineyard resulting from over a decade of research to isolate the optimal selection of clones. Altitude: 210-220 meters above sea level.

Ruby red in color.Fresh and fruity on the nose with strong cherry and blackberry notes follow by tobacco and licorice hints. Consistent and smooth structure with a good acidity. Long and persistent finish.
